playwrights showcase new work in a free evening in bold street
LIVERPOOL playwrights are launching a new venture to get their work heard in public.
Drama extracts, sketches and monologues are being given rehearsed readings at Scoff the Liverpool city centre cafe in Bold Street next week.
Writer Dave Young, whose The Guy's a Monster was premiered at Write Now, the Liverpool One Act Play Festival, is one of the team to kick off the series.
Dave, who is secretary of the West Lancs Playwrights, said: "I currently have two new stage plays just beginning rehearsals involving my own small Old Barn Drama Group which I set up in 2009."
"We're keen to attract other writers into the fold and to get some actors involved in the nights and build up a rapport with them."
The evening on Thursday, July 15 is free with the doors opening from 7.30pm.
