Viewers can see the broadcast today at 7pm, tomorrow at 1pm and on Sunday at 7.35am and 11.30pm, and at regular intervals throughout May.
The new film is the latest development in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic's new media partnership, announced in February this year, with BSkyB's arts channel.
Sky Arts broadcast a 10-minute documentary about the Mahler Edition in February.
This second film explores the series in more depth and includes rehearsal footage and an interview with Chief Conductor Vasily Petrenko.
