Young Performers Weekend at the Black-E
A one-day performing arts festival takes place at the Black-E this weekend.
The Young Performers Weekend will bring together young performers from across the Merseyside region for a day of dance, drama, film and live music.
The 16 to 24-year-olds will present a range of adapted and devised drama and dance pieces in the Black-E's Main Space and Chamber Theatre while musicians from Lipa will be performing acoustic sets in the art centre's gallery.
Sunday's festival is aimed at giving up-and-coming dancers, actors, directors, writers and choreographers the opportunity to perform their work to the public and sample the talents of other young artists.
Adam Ryan, whose short musical Don't Forget the Distance, is being showcased at the event, said: "Festivals like this are a good opportunity for new writers to showcase and test their work.
"I'm excited to see my debut in front of a public audience to get a true opinion of the piece."
The festival on March 21 opens at 12.30pm with live music in the gallery. The last performance finishes at 6pm.
Wristbands are available on the door costing £3.50 for adults, and £3 concessions.
