lyn paul reprises her role as Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers at the Liverpool Empire
Lyn Paul is on her way back to the Liverpool Empire for a fifth time as Liverpool's most famous cleaning lady Mrs Johnstone.
And she's revealed she and son Ryan, who is one of the show's lighting engineers, are renting digs close to both the theatre and to Ma Egerton's around the corner.
Not just that, but there could be a bit of a birthday bash at Ma's during the run as well.
"I'm desperately looking forward to going to Ma Egerton's at the back of the theatre! It's compulsory," Lyn tells me.
"My son, strangely enough, has had four birthdays there, and this year I'm so proud because he's now got a job with Kenwrights, he works on the lighting, and he's going to have his 21st up there on the middle weekend, so we're celebrating another birthday in Liverpool."
Talking of children, I found myself telling Lyn that the first songs I learned to sing as a two year old back in the early 1970s were I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing and Beg, Steal or Borrow - two of her New Seekers' hits.
She kindly said how sweet, but I think it's probably more precocious than sweet, and I've got the old cassette tape to prove it which not only has me warbling the songs but also berating my poor mother for getting the lyrics wrong!
Anyway, you won't be reading THAT in today's Echo, but you can read more of my chat with Lyn on the arts page.
