new musical don't take jack gets its premiere at Liverpool's Contemporary Urban Centre
A new rock musical will be premiered in Liverpool in a live workshop open to the public this Friday.
Don't Take Jack by Simon Hardwick and Dominic Shaw will be presented at the Contemporary Urban Centre in Greenland Street.
Set in mid-nineties Britain, the musical explores the love story between Ava, an only child, raised by her single parent father, and a charismatic Irish boy named Jack.
It also draws on contemporary issues including drug abuse, single parenthood and the responsibilities of coming of age.
The show, starring professional touring and West End performers, is currently being prepared for entry into the New York Musical Theatre Festival.
See Don't Take Jack at the CUC at 8pm on Friday. Entrance is £1.50.
