melanie C nominated for an olivier award for blood brothers
Congratulations to Melanie C who has been nominated for a prestigious Olivier Award for her role as Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers.
The former Spice Girl took over the part in the Willy Russell hit musical at London's Phoenix theatre last October, marking her West End acting debut.
Now it's been revealed the 36-year-old mum-of-one has been nominated in the best actress in a musical or entertainment category.
She's up against Patina Miller in Sister Act, Samantha Spiro for Hello Dolly! Hannah Waddingham for A Little Night Music, and Charlotte Wakefield in Spring Awakening.
The Laurence Olivier Awards are the most highly-prized in the Uk theatre world.
Other nominees for the 2010 accolades include actresses Keira Knightley, Rachel Weisz and Gillian Anderson and actors Jude Law, James McAvoy and James Earl Jones.
The winners will be announced at a dinner at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on March 21 so keep your fingers crossed.
