chance for young actors to audition for Our Day Out
Royal Court producers are on the look out for two new young actors to join the cast of hit musical Our Day Out.
The Willy Russell tale of a class of Liverpool schoolchildren on a day trip to Wales is set to return to the Roe Street theatre in 2010.
Now the search is on for a pair of talented young people to take on two of the main roles.
Candidates must be aged 16 or over with a playing age of 12 to 16, and have finished compulsory education by July 2010. They should also have native Liverpool accents.
The first is the role of Amy who has a solo in the show.
Young performers interested in the part should have excellent vocal skills as well as the ability to sing solo and in a group, good movement/dance and acting skills.
The second character Paul, who is mocked in the story for being overweight, is a new one being written for the 2010 show by Willy Russell.
Again would-be actor should have good vocal ability and movement/dance and acting skills.
Director Bob Eaton said: "We were knocked out by the astounding talent we found among the young people we auditioned last year and we're hoping for more of the same.
"Because of the limits on the time available for rehearsal with under 16s these days we have decided to look for two very talented young people who are in fact 16 or over but who can convincingly play under 16s for these two parts."
The closing date for applications is February 26.

Hi will there be auditions for 15 year olds at all?
What a shame Sacha. I'm afraid they are definitely looking for young actors who are 16 and over this time.
