casting open call event for write now one act play festival
THE organisers of a new one act play festival for Liverpool are calling for actors and crew to help make it a success.
Write Now will feature eight one act plays and two rehearsed readings at Liverpool's Actors' Studio between Friday March 26 and Saturday April 3.
Now a cast networking day is set to be held at the Contemporary Urban Centre for anyone interested in getting involved.
Festival director Ian Moore said: "Casting a single show can be quite a challenge. Casting 10 will be something of an event.
"Every show has a different dynamic. And we're currently seeking cast and crew for a huge variety of roles in 10 new one-act pieces
"It was felt we had to allow everyone in an opportunity to become involved so decided the best way to achieve this was to set up a network casting event."
The open cast call networking event - called the 'Meet' Market - takes place on Wednesday January 20 at The Contemporary Urban Centre in Greenland Street from 5-9pm.
Anyone interested should bring CVs and headshots, and the event will give them chance to meet and talk with the respective writers, directors and producers of the 10 selected pieces.
From this meeting, the writers and directors will arrange casting.
Anyone who is unable to make The Meet Market will find all remaining roles listed afterwards on www.writenowfestival.co.uk
