sherlock holmes starring robert downey jr and jude law
Two of the three big Boxing Day offerings opening today have strong Liverpool connections.
One is Nowhere Boy and if you don't know about that yet, then where have you been?!
The other is Sherlock Holmes which used the city's Stanley Dock as a location.
I'd recommend a viewing if you are fond of a good cinematic romp, albeit with a little too much CGI for my liking.
And most people will enjoy spotting the bits of Liverpool used in the film. Check out the dockside alleyways where Holmes and Watson go searching for the mysterious Lord Blackwood, and the explosive reaction they are on the receiving end of when they get too close.
Incidently, you can also see Stanley Dock in Nowhere Boy where John (Aaron Johnson) chucks his unwanted jazz records in the water.
Tut tut. Doesn't he know he could have off loaded them at the Heritage Market?
