vic reeves and the bluecoat chapter and verse festival
The Bluecoat's second Chapter and Verse Festival opens on Wednesday and I hope everyone comes out to support what is a literary festival which is still in something of an infantsy.
Liverpool has a great tradition for all sorts of artistic endeavours, yet until recently - and apart from the very good Writing on the Wall Festival - we haven't really had a lot of literary events, particularly compared to places like Cheltenham.
This year's Chapter and Verse programme includes appearances by Michael Rosen, Salley Vickers and the inimitable Vic Reeves.
I interviewed Vic the other week and I hope some of you caught the resulting article. If not, you can read it here:

Incidently, 'tis the season for festivals. The Liverpool Irish Festival, sponsored by Guinness, opens this week with music and craic aplenty.
Both festivals have websites: www.thebluecoat.org.uk for the literary festival, and www.liverpoolirishfestival.com for all things Irish.
