our day out raises money for liverpool unites
Liverpool's Royal Court is releasing three songs from its new Willy Russell musical Our Day Out with all profits from the CD going to the Echo's Liverpool Unites.
I'm in Love With Sir, To The Zoo and No One Can Take This Time Away are the three heartwarming, funny - and ridiculously catchy in a worm their way inside your head way - songs.
The words and music for all three were written by Willy Russell and director Bob Eaton and arranged by the show's musical director Howard Gray who featured on my arts page last Friday.
The CD is available to buy from the Royal Court box office and from the customer service desk on the ground floor of Rapid Hardware in the George Henry Lee building. It's also available from the Royal Court website, www.royalcourtliverpool.com
Willy Russell said: "The songs in Our Day Out - The Musical have all been forged from the language and culture of Liverpool and so it's especially pleasing to know that some of those songs may now go on to support such a vital and important charity as Liverpool Unites."
Incidently, Our Day Out opens at the Royal Court on September 11.
