not one magaldi but two!
I've been to two performances in St George's Hall over the last week - one in the small concert room and one in the crown court.
But they have had one thing in common. The Echo's Search for a Magaldi.
Last year we ran an Any Dream Will Do-style competition with Bill Kenwright to find a Magaldi for his touring production of Evita.
The search discovered James Waud who is still in the show now.
But there were a host of other Magaldi hopefuls who we put through their paces, and I was really pleased to see not one but both performing in productions over the last week.
First I spotted Danny Douglas as a comical gravedigger in Lodestar Theatre Company's Hamlet.
Then last night I was watching Trial by Jury and thought "I recognise that defendant"!! And lo, the man trying to wriggle out of a marriage agreement in the Gilbert & Sullivan operetta was another of our Magaldi finalists, Chris Liston.
Incidently, I enjoyed both their performances.
