what's on in the week from june 6
Musicals, playboys, campus intrigue, a world premiere and the second worst beach in Ireland - take two.
We're dancing into June proper in Liverpool with singing superstar Beyonce at the Arena on Saturday, and High School Musical hot on her heels when it opens at the Empire on Monday.
There's also a musical offering at the Floral Pavilion where West Kirby Light Opera is putting the moves on Chess,
Meanwhile JM Synge's classic The Playboy of the Western World arrives at the Playhouse on its was to the West End.
And the Unity plays host to a five-night stay for Edward Albee's brilliant Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, set in a New England university town, which also starts on Tuesday.
The tide will hopefully be back in for the Royal Court's The Flags too after this week's performances were cancelled when its set dressed with 20 tonnes of sand and rocks had to be reworked.
And last but certainly not least, the Phil's award-winning contemporary music wing Ensemble 10/10 has not one but two premieres on Wednesday at the Cornerstone at Hope University's Everton campus.
They include the world premiere of New York composter Michael Torke's Tahiti which he wrote especially for the group. And, because he admired them so much, he did it for free!
