Today, if you hadn't noticed, is Beatles Day.
That means much mop-top tomfoolery and singing of Fab Four songs.
And we reveal the city's favourite Beatles song as voted for by you lot out there. I must admit I was very pleased with the result as it was the song I'd voted for myself!
You'll have to wait until the paper comes out to find out which one it is, but suffice to say it - excuse the lame pun - struck a chord with many, many people both inside and outside the city.
Now you may not like the Beatles, or you may think the idea of Beatles Day is a bit naf,and why should you bother to get involved?
Well, even if you don't fancy popping on a wig, or singing your favourite song, or going to the concert tonight, at least think about dropping a few coins in a collection bucket because the event is raising money for two excellent causes - our Liverpool Unites campaign in memory of Rhys Jones, and the Alder Hey Imagine appeal.

Catherine, I'm pleased that the Alder Hey & Rhys Jones appeals have benefitted from Beatles Day in the city. However, it's only right to ask if this is considered to be a highlight of 2008. We can all laugh at the Beatle wigs, but I fear this is the latest case of the city perpetuating stereotypes & misconceptions about itself. We're often accused of revelling in nostalgia; Beatles Day reinforces that perception. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't 2008 supposed to showcase Merseyside's current cultural offerings more than those of yesteryear? The McCartney Anfield concert was an opportunity wasted in this regard. With the exception of The Zutons, today's Liverpool music scene was ignored.
