So it looks as though the Mathew Street Festival is back on track for 2008 with details of locations for the stages being revealed.
They came to light in a verbal report to the culture select committee at the Town Hall last night.
Mind you, it was a feat of endurance all round as Mathew Street wasn't talked about until THREE hours into the meeting.
Still, the news is undoubtedly hopeful and all being well (with the wind behind us and the safety "experts" playing ball) we'll see the return to Mathew Street pretty much as we know it.
It will also reclaim the initials MSF for Mathew Street Festival rather than Mathew Street Fiasco as it had become known.
Of course the Echo had already revealed the plan to site one stage in the huge bowl at the mouth of the Birkenhead tunnel.
But Ged Gibbons, seconded on to the 08 team from St Helens, explained where else stages were likely to stand and, in addition, who would play on them.
And there was also news for those who like a bevvy or two when they attend the festival - it looks like alcohol will be allowed in some if not all of the stage areas.
Last year was a disaster, there's no doubt about that.
But as one person close to the event pointed out, it was the straw that finally broke the camel's back and caused a necessary sea change at Culture HQ.
Looking at it that way, the 2007 festival was sacrificed for the greater good.
Once is enough though, which is why I'm heartened by today's news.
