it's been a hard days night

Posted by Catherine Jones on February 1, 2008 2:10 PM |

Hurrah - no more hard hats.
I took my first walk around the newly opened Hard Days Night Hotel this morning.
It wasn't my first visit to the site itself though, I must have been a good half a dozen times over the years.
But it looks so different!

The bars and restaurants are great, the stairwell with black and white images of the Fab Four (many of them Echo or Post pics) is amazing and the bedrooms are sparkling new.

In fact the only thing I didn't like was the wall covering in the main function room. It's my one gripe but I'm going to say it. Lose the nets - they look like nasty marquee lining!
It all looks a lot different to the times I donned a yellow tabard, hard hat and boots to climb in and out of a building site, up and down the stone stairwell and into the basements.

People were checking in as we toured the place this morning and the place is fully booked this weekend - even the £650 a night Lennon and McCartney suites.
