I felt rather sorry for Liz McClarnon yesterday.
Despite being due at the Brits, she gamely allowed herself under the make up artists' brush first for a Smokefree conference at St George's Hall to show the effect smoking has on the skin.
Forty-five minutes of latex and layering revealed the 26-year-old's face to be a playground for lines and bags and leathery-look skin.

They worked on Liz while she downed strong painkillers to try and stop a bad toothache which was making her feel ill.
I suspect she felt as pale and lined as they made her.
She still talked to a group from D-MYST, the youth arm of Liverpool's smoke-free movement, about her feelings on smoking.
Of course they were more interested in what she thought of former Atomic Kitten bandmate Kerry Katona being spotted smoking while pregnant.
There was really only one thing Liz COULD say - she obviously didn't want to be drawn into a ruckus but no sensible person could condone it, so she gave a measured response saying it was a bad thing but generously making allowances for Katona.
Alas for Liz, the reporters and TV crews had followed her into the Q&A so on top of the toothache and make-up, her views on Katona will appear all over the place including in the ECHO today.
Still, you can't say she isn't a trooper after she was photographed later on sans wrinkles and smiling at the Brits.
