starry starry flight

Oh dear, oh dear.
Ringo Starr isn't having much luck with his TV appearances.
Hard on the heels of his rather blunt performance Jonathan Ross which sparked a hullabaloo last week, it now appears he's got into a bit of strife on an American show.

The producers of Regis and Kelly apparently wanted him to cut his peformance of Liverpool 8 down from four to two-and-a-half minutes and he declined.
Appearance off and so was Mr Starkey.
Some less charitable folk out there may suggest it's a case of Instant Karma.
But looking at it dispassionately - and making no judgements about the song itself - there are three very specific verses of Liverpool 8 dealing with Liverpool, Hamburg and breaking the States.
I wonder which they wanted him to leave out to make the time slot?
