Well, that's set the cat among the pigeons.
I didn't see Jonathan Ross's show on Friday night - a combination of being bored with Wossy's interviewing style and being completely Ringoed out.
I wish I had now if only so I could see what had caused the furore which has gathered pace over the weekend.
Arrogant, obnoxious and an embarrassment are some of the more printable reactions we've received on our forums.
And it's such a shame.
Because whether you liked his new single or not, whether it was simply a vehicle for him to promote his record or not (and Ringo himself admitted that was one of the reasons he came to Liverpool the other weekend), at least he'd come and got involved and helped make the start of Capital of Culture a globally recognised event.
All of those at the press conference at St George's Hall saw he could be prickly and short with people. He also exhibited what Warren Bradley described to me this morning as a "flippant" sense of humour.
And I think in general he meant to be humorous - it's just maybe we didn't get him......or after all those years of living in the irony-free vacuum of California he was a bit out of practice.
But those who saw his less than sparkling performance on the Jonathan Ross show on Friday night were incensed.
Some people say he was just being bluntly honest.
But there are times when bluntness and honesty aren't always the best policy.
All he had to do was smile, plug his album, say a few nice things about Liverpool and Capital of Culture (even if he didn't mean them) and there you go.
Job done, no one hurt, Ringo pootles back off the Monaco or LA or wherever and everyone's happy all round.
Unfortunately, and despite being asked similar questions for a whole week beforehand, he couldn't think of anything particularly glowing to say about Liverpool 2008.
And it left Liverpool feeling a bit unloved.
One Echo Forum writer said: "I personally do not have a problem with those people that move away from Liverpool for pastures new - but to basically make out that there is nothing you miss about a city that you have agreed to take "ambassador" status for - during the Capital of Culture - is an insult."
And Liverbirdlou added: "I'm sad to say that Ringo has gone down in my estimation. As someone who was a huge fan of Ringo's I now feel he has let many of us down, the irony is his song suggests he has never let us down!”
PR professional Macca is up next - let's hope it's more hello than goodbye.

As like many I specifically watched Jonathan Ross on Friday night to see Ringo and to listen to his lovely comments about Liverpool and his previous weekend in the city - or so I thought!!!!!!!
All I can say is that I was very disappointed with his attitude, I think that he let himself down let alone the city - I hope Paul is a better ambassador than Ringo!!!!!! We'll just have to wait and see!!!!!
