restless natives

Posted by Catherine Jones on December 13, 2007 4:24 PM |

I met Geoffrey Hughes at rehearsals for the Liverpool Nativity today.
"Hello," I said, shaking his hand. "I'm Catherine Jones from the Echo."
"We all have our crossed to bear," he said.
It wasn't the most promising of starts, I'll admit, but luckily it soon became clear he was actually joking.
Well, you never know.

Rehearsals go on for the next couple of days and then the big event is on Sunday.
I really hope they get a lot of people along to William Brown Street to see it - 8,000 turned up to the Manchester Passion last year, and we don't want to look like the poor relation.
The show goes live on air at 8pm.
Just bring your thermals, woollies and maybe a mac - seeing Geoffrey singing My Sweet Lord is worth the bus fare alone.
