August 2007 Archives
I've had quite a bit of response about the 800 Scousers supplement.
Some have suggested people we left out, some have complained about people we put in, some have pointed out the odd error, and others have simply said what an interesting read it is.
I'm just pleased it has sparked debate and people have been interested enough to look through it.
We're up against the Lake District and the White Cliffs of Dover.
But this weekend Jamie Redknapp will try and convince Britain our World Heritage waterfront is the country's favourite view.
I went to the latest Late at Tate last night.
Unfortunately, I managed the Tate bit but not the late which was a shame.
And the closest I got to seeing star turn Bill Drummond was standing next to him in the foyer.

I don't know about Liverpool being 800, but that's about how old I feel this morning.
And yes, I'm vowing never to touch anything stronger than tap water ever again.
But if you can't celebrate a whole city's birthday, what can you celebrate?
I'm running late for the birthday dinner at Liverpool Town Hall.
But see Culture Chat tomorrow for errant banners, Pete Price sing-a-longs and all the party news.
Many years ago, before I moved to Liverpool, I used to dream of coming to the Mathew Street Festival.
Then when I became an 'adopted scouser' five years ago, that dream became a reality.
After the Sir Peter Blake/Tracey Emin double act, the Albert Dock art gallery hosts its next Late at Tate next week.
And Tate bosses are promising the event on August 30 will "take a closer look at Liverpool's creative legacy".
Liverpool Shakespeare Festival organisers tell me they have solved the acoustics problem with Macbeth which meant I dubbed the production "Mac-deaf".
Sound engineers have now come to the aid of Lodestar a Liverpool theatre group which fell under the curse of Shakespeare’s "Scottish play".
I've just returned from watching the special screening of Liverpool in Film at the Odeon in London Road.
The new film DVD has been put together to celebrate the city's 800th birthday.
A sneak preview of the new International Slavery Museum today with a media pack from London.
It's got to be good that it's getting national and, no doubt, international coverage.
Then again, we'll have to wait and see what they actually write.
