sunday in the park with george et al

It was a particularly idyllic scene in Sefton Park yesterday afternoon.

Familes were sitting in the Marie Curie daffodils (no picking please), while kids were riding their bicycles and people were just generally, well, there's no other word for it - perambulating - in the sunshine.
A lot more sedate than Sefton Park a week ago when hundreds of marathon runners descended on the grass.
Nearing the Palm House I could hear music, and like many others I suspect, I stumbled across a free afternoon classical music concert.
The place was packed with all ages and the smell of orchids wafted around with the Chopin.
I suppose if you often walk around the park you will come across notices for this kind of thing, but a lot of people will have found it by accident. Personally, I'd like to see these kind of events promoted a lot more widely.
