love liverpool love its history

Ah, it makes you proud to be a (adopted) Scouser.
Thousands of people have been pouring in to St George's Hall since it opened to the public on Monday afternoon.
It shows what massive interest there is out there in the city.

Of course, the Minton floor is a huge draw, but people are also having a good look at the new visitor centre and have pretty much stripped the shop bare of souvenirs.
I've already missed out on the 2007 commemorative tea towels and boxed liver birds and if I don't go soon I expect I'll be left with nothing but a St George pencil sharpener.
The Son et Lumiere has also been a rip-roaring success.
I don't think any of us really knew what kind of demand there would be for 14 shows over a week.
But as we saw from Monday night, people were even happy to sit in the rain to watch and as the Echo reveals today, the rest of the week's shows are pretty much sold out.
I'm going tomorrow night and am very much looking forward to it.
