where's the wisdom?

News today that prudent Chancellor Gordon Brown declined an anaesthetic when he went to the dentist's.

Apparently he was having some root canal work done but was then due to give a speech and didn't want to be dribbling and biting his tongue as his gums came round.
Manly Gordon apparently appeared 'relaxed' and didn't flinch as the dentist gave his teeth a good drilling.
Having undergone root canal work last month myself, all I can say is this just confirms what I've always feared about the man at Number 11 - no feelings, no sense....and worryingly showing signs of being toothless!
