ambassador chic

George Davies has signed as an 08 Ambassador with a paean about what Liverpool means to him.

His signature takes the tally for Ambassadors to 5,000 in the first year.
That's 5,000 people who have stepped up to sing the city's praises in the run up to Capital of Culture.
Other Ambassadors include Cherie Blair (in Liverpool today for one of her regular end-of-the-week visits), Ken Dodd, John Conteh, Stevie Gerrard, Roger McGough.
Oh, and me.
Anyway, I think it's great news George is so enthusiastic about promoting Liverpool. Maybe now is time to think a new range of clothes to celebrate....George at Ambass-asda maybe?
Incidently, I told my mum on the phone yesterday that he was the latest name to be unveiled.
"I should think so" she said.
"His sister was the first girl your uncle ever kissed."
Lovely though my uncle is, I'm not sure they would have got to 5,000 if that was a qualification on the Ambassadors sign-up sheet.
