new artists

I have been taken to task by reader Godfrey Wilmot for treading the same tired old road when it comes to art and artists.

He complained that my piece about the Academy of Art exhibition concentrated on the same old 1960s characters and didn't mention the burgeoning talent in Merseyside, not least mosaic artist Ed Chapman.
I hold my hands up to only mentioning the same well-known names.
But Mr Wilmot is right. Ed, who I know a little through his wife, is a very fine British artist who does deserve to be recognised more in his native Merseyside.
I would urge everyone to check out the website www.constructionart.co.uk to learn more about him - and maybe even buy one of his pieces.
