jingle bell rot

Posted by Catherine Jones on December 22, 2006 11:10 AM |

Someone emailed me this week and signed off (in hope over expectation I fear) "here's to a rot-free 2007!"
They were alluding to the Stop the Rot campaign which I've run since I joined the Echo four years ago.

I'd like nothing more than for there to be a rot-free New Year, but I can't see it happening really.
All I can hope for is the work promised on several of the hitlist starts, that the Land Registry sorts out the row over ownership of St Andrews Church and that developers who have been coy about the future of their properties (no names but you know exactly who you are) get off their backsides and get restoring.
Incidently, there seems to be a lot of activity at Exchange Flags now the Walton Group has flogged off part of the the Exchange Buildings.
And I've been amused to notice the vans and skips sitting behind the Town Hall belong to a certain Bradley Demolition.
I knew Warren had a vision for the long term future of Liverpool but even in the current climate of cranes that's a bit extreme.....
