I had a much anticipated day off on Friday, and after going to Manchester solely to buy chocolate (for Christmas presents, honestly!) I went to see the much anticipated Casino Royale.
FACT on a Friday afternoon was packed, which I haven't seen in a long time, a mixture of students, the happy few on a day off like myself, and one or two more mature ladies.
What the latter thought about the rather bizarre rope-and-chair torture scene I have no idea. But I heard them pass comment about the beautiful scenery.
Well, Lake Como did look lovely!
It's had a mixed response from reviews, but I quite enjoyed the film, especially the action sequences which brightened up a deadly dull central poker game and a decidedly limp baddie.
And fair play to Daniel Craig who outshone all the usual Bond totty with his rippling torso, designed I suspect to dispell those girly images of him arriving at his first press conference in a life jacket.
I still can't quite forgive him though for calling one of my colleagues a very rude word in the latest edition of Vogue, just because his mum let the cat out of the bag about him grabbing the role.
No one likes a bad winner Mr Bond.
