I am very upset on behalf of Sir Edward Elgar.
I spent Saturday lunchtime on Crosby beach.
The sun was out, the ice cream vans were doing a brisk business, and the sands were packed with people out to see the Gormley statues.
So, the Phil’s Mick Elliott has been appointed ‘cultural advisor’ by the Culture Company to fill a little of the hole left by Robyn Archer.
It’s like the eponymous buses scenario.
You wait for one Capital of Culture story to come along, and then three trundle down the road together.
