April 2006 Archives
I spent yesterday afternoon at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton where I had been asked to be a judge at the 59+ Talent Competition.
The contest replaces the popular national Silver Stars competition which ran until last year.
TOMORROW sees the British Titanic Society descending on Liverpool for its annual convention.
It’s rather a coup for the city because the ship enthusiasts normally gather in Southampton where the Titanic set sail from in 1912.
I spent the Easter weekend in Nottingham.
The trip was ostensibly to see the Bolshoi Ballet perform a gala show on Saturday night.
But it was also aimed at seeing what another British city has to offer compared to our own.
A British city that styles itself a ‘capital for culture’ to boot.
And I thought we were supposed to be the cheeky ones?!
